UNCODIFIED - Some Things Collapsing

2012 (Show me your wounds production)
noise, post-industrial

Corrado Altieri's new project had already revealed its obsessive industrial craftsmanship on "Document", where tracks of noise crossed paths in a technological post-war maelstrom, making it hard to find a single common thread without struggling through an immense gravitational battle.

This new chapter picks up the debut's aesthetic and develops it into a more introverted, deeper architecture. "Some Things Collapsing" depicts a bacterial, mechanical world beneath the level of silence; an underground structure in constant transformation and reinvention, almost like some kind of industrial matmos.
Layers of white noise and organic pulses move over one another, weaving the rippling surfaces of an ocean of liquid metal. Within it we see the minimal terrorism of "Subterranean 3 (Part 1)" build toward the impenetrable cacophonous wall of "Consent Control", before merging into the wind tunnel of "Landline", a key foundational piece of the record. From there the structures keep stratifying further, between knobs and battered synthesizers, worn out inside an asphyxiating vice, with the occasional field recording interlude.

It becomes ever clearer that the sonic weave Altieri creates is a narrative that synthesizes another space, rising from the teeming foundations of a present/future with blurred tones that nonetheless pushes powerfully to expand and occupy new territories.
A sonic-mechanical organism perpetually reproducing itself, fascinating in its all-consuming nature, able to absorb and annihilate every single ray of light within itself and convert it into a new, dark body.
