Marc Ribot, new album out in September [Listen]

28-06-2018

Two months after the release of YRU Still Here?, the third record under the Ceramic Dog moniker, Marc Ribot has announced a new album, this time credited under his own name: it's titled "Songs Of Resistance 1942-2018" and will be released on September 14 via Anti-. Starting with its explicit title, the record (featuring, among others, Tom Waits, Steve Earle and Meshell Ndegeocello) continues the militant discourse the artist has been pursuing for some time: it will in fact include Italian partisan songs, Mexican protest songs and original compositions of unmistakably political character. "Any movement that has ever achieved its goals has always produced songs," commented the great American guitarist. Below the article you can listen to the first single "Srinivas", an open indictment of the Trump administration.
