Primus: live return to Italy after 11 years with a summer date

24-02-2026

Eleven years after their last appearance, Primus are back in Italy for a single summer date. The show is set for Friday, July 31, 2026 at Circolo Magnolia in Milan (Doors/show start: 7:30 pm; Tickets: standing room only, €45 plus presale fee; €50 at the door on the night of the show. Available on Ticketone.).

The announcement, released by Barley Arts, confirms a single Italian date as part of the European tour. Tickets will go on sale in three phases: Wednesday, February 25 as a presale for subscribers to the band's official newsletter, Thursday, February 26 for Spotify followers, and from Friday, February 27 in general sale on Ticketone.

Over the past two years, the group led by Les Claypool has gone through a phase of renewal, sharing the stage with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer on the "Sessanta Tour 2024–2025" and taking on major tours across North America. 2025 also marked the arrival of new drummer John Hoffman, chosen after a selection process involving more than 6,100 candidates, as well as the release of the single "Little Lord Fentanyl", featuring guest vocals from Maynard James Keenan.

Primus are an American band formed in 1984 in California, led by bassist and singer Les Claypool. Their style fuses funk, alternative metal and experimental rock, built around a virtuosic, percussive use of the electric bass. Emerging between the late Eighties and early Nineties, they made their name with albums like "Sailing The Seas Of Cheese" and "Pork Soda". Eccentric, surreal lyrics combined with irregular rhythmic structures made the band instantly recognizable. They remain one of the most original forces in American alternative rock.

For 2026 the band presents the "Claypool Gold Tour", a project that brings together on stage Primus and two other Claypool ensembles — The Claypool Lennon Delirium and Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade — alternating the trio's funk-metal repertoire with longer, more experimental sets.
