“Yarn”, the second album from Rome's rising band Departure Ave., will be out on February 6th. The group made a name for itself on the national independent scene with its fine debut “All The Sunset In A Cup”. After self-releasing that record, the band chose/was chosen by Bomba Dischi to put out this sophomore effort.
The band chose OndaRock for the release of the album's first single, “Miles D.”, a perfect expression of their dynamic style and their not-entirely-decipherable expressiveness, like the sound of the unconscious stirred up by narcolepsy.
This is how the band describes the single and the video: “The track, enriched by Raffaele Casarano's saxophone, is a little nursery rhyme about accepting one's own limits: laziness, distance from others, loneliness. Denise Tortora's performance is an act of liberation: accepting emotional imperfections through movement set to music.
The video, shot inside a lake and marked by mirror-image shots, tells this inner dialectic in a suspended, wintry atmosphere.”
