Placebo are celebrating their thirtieth anniversary with a lengthy European tour, which will stop in Italy for a single date, on November 6th in Milan (Unipol Forum), alongside the release of "Placebo RE:CREATED", a reworking of their 1996 debut that established them on the international scene. The album will arrive on June 19, 2026 via Elevator Lady Ltd through AWAL, exactly two days before the thirtieth anniversary of the original record. "Placebo RE:CREATED" will feature reworked and expanded versions of all ten tracks from the original tracklist, plus two bonus tracks already associated with the first edition.
In the official notes, the British band describes the project as a kind of "director's cut": not a full reconstruction, but a return to the original masters in light of thirty years of live shows and sonic evolution. The intention, they explain, was to bring that repertoire into the present without distorting it, rounding out its execution rather than correcting it.
The band has also admitted that, at the time of their first album, they didn't yet have the experience needed to translate everything they had in mind into the studio. Over time, however, those songs took on a different shape onstage, growing show after show until reaching a more fully realized form. "Placebo RE:CREATED" was born precisely from this process: a meeting point between the urgency of their early days and the solidity gained over the years.
Alongside the release, Brian Molko and co. will bring this material on tour with a series of shows in European arenas, which will also make room for tracks from "Without You I'm Nothing". The tour will kick off on 28 September in Porto and take in much of the continent before moving on to the UK and Ireland between late November and early December.
