Three years after the excellent “Adventures In Your Own Backyard”, Patrick Watson's dreamy, colorful folk rock returns with a new album, “Love Songs For Robots”, due out on May 12th via Domino.
The Canadian artist, winner of the 2007 Polaris Music Prize for “Close To Paradise”, has made the title track of the new record available on SoundCloud, once again working with his eponymous band.
“As I've gotten older I've started to know myself better, just enough to realize how mechanical my emotional reactions mostly are, and how much that's affected me. I don't want to be a robot. We're superior to computers because we have emotions, but if those emotions are mechanical too, then the only things that truly separate us from robots are curiosity and inspiration – and I don't think those can be taught.”
Below you can listen to the opening track, followed by the tracklist for the whole album:
01. Love Songs for Robots
02. Good Morning Mr. Wolf
03. Bollywood
04. Hearts
05. Grace
06. In Circles
07. Turn Into the Noise
08. Alone in This World
09. Know That You Know
10. Places You Will Go
