Marracash goes to the movies: the docufilm "King Marracash", tracing his career, is on its way

"King Marracash", the first documentary film dedicated to Marracash, arrives in theaters on May 25, retracing the artistic and personal journey of Fabio Rizzo. The project, produced by Grøenlandia in collaboration with Disney+ and in association with Adler Entertainment, is also built around testimonies from collaborators and key figures in his career.

The film will be released in theatres only on 25, 26 and 27 May and follows a pivotal year in the artist's career, marked by an unprecedented milestone for Italian rap: his first stadium tour, culminating in the show on 25 June 2025 at the Stadio San Siro.

Directed by Pippo Mezzapesa, who also co-wrote the story and screenplay alongside Antonella W. Gaeta, Chiara Battistini and Shadi Cioffi, the documentary moves through the various phases of Marracash's career: from his early days to success, including moments of crisis and rebirth. The narrative alternates between public and private dimensions, placing not just the artist but the person at its center.

The narrative returns to his places of origin, among the neighbourhoods of Barona in Milan, and extends to Sicily, weaving together family memory and identity. The film closely documents daily life, relationships, creative work and the recognition achieved over this span of time.

The project serves as the closing chapter of the journey begun with the album trilogy that established Marracash as one of the central names on the Italian scene. The story ends with a block party in his home neighborhood: a concert conceived as a symbolic and concrete act of giving back, tied to his roots and the path he has traveled.

On the live front, Marracash will return to the stage alongside Guè for two consecutive dates: September 12-13, 2026 — Milan, Ippodromo Snai San Siro.
