Kings of Convenience: five-date mini-tour in Italy this summer

27-01-2026

Kings of Convenience are returning to Italy for a series of summer concerts hosted by some of the country's most evocative festivals.

For over twenty years, the Norwegian duo has represented the most restrained and sophisticated side of Nordic indie pop. For this new Italian tour, Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe will be joined by a string trio made up of Tobias Hett on viola, Naomi Berrill on cello and Davide Bettolini on double bass, an addition designed to further enhance the chamber-music quality of their repertoire.

The schedule kicks off on July 26th in Monforte d'Alba, as part of Monfortinjazz, before continuing on July 28th in Argenta, within Ferrara Sotto Le Stelle, and on July 29th at the Tener-a-mente Festival in Gardone Riviera. On July 31st the band will play at the Be Alternative Festival in Camigliatello Silano, while on August 2nd they'll wrap up the Italian tour with a show at the Teatro Greco in Tindari.

Formed in Bergen out of the meeting between Øye and Bøe, both born in 1975 and friends since high school, Kings of Convenience began making a name for themselves in the late Nineties thanks to appearances at European festivals. In 1999 they signed with the US label Kindercore and released their debut album, launching an international career built on spare arrangements, finely chiseled vocal harmonies and a distinctive use of acoustic guitar. A style that has, over time, made them a steady reference point in European indie pop.
