JAZZ IS DEAD! returns from May 29 to 31 in Turin with Alessandro Cortini, BIG|BRAVE, Glacial, Matmos, Moor Mother, Heliocentrics and many more

After the rich previews with Gianluca Petrella Cosmic Renaissance (in collaboration with Green Days Festival) and with Marc Ribot Quartet (in collaboration with Torino Jazz Festival), from May 29 to 31 the Jazz Is Dead! festival returns, a project produced by Arci Torino and Magazzino sul Po, with artistic direction and communications by TUM Torino. Now in its ninth edition, Jazz Is Dead! changes location and moves to the area of Cascina Falchera and El Barrio, still in Turin, for a festival running from morning until night, also offering the chance to camp, with the aim of delivering a genuine cultural and social experience of music.

Built around the concept of "Backwords", the festival's three days include: a Friday devoted to electronic music and its experiments with Alessandro Cortini, Aya, BIG|BRAVE, Bono/Burattini, Emidio Clementi, Lucrecia Dalt, Marta Salogni & Stefano Pilia, Matmos; a Saturday spanning hip-hop, ethno, psychedelia and black music with A Guy Called Gerald, Alien Dub Orchestra, James Massiah, Lord Spikeheart, Moor Mother, Sorvina, The Heliocentrics, Xabier Iriondo, Yazz Ahmed & Ralph Wyld; and a Sunday of jazz, noise and rock with Dwarf Of East Agouza (Maurice Louca, Sam Shalabi, Alan Bishop), Ensemble Nist Nah, Glacial (Lee Ranaldo, Toby Buck, David Watson), Horse Lords, Sanam, Società Cosmica, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble.

As TUM explains, the program has been conceived as "a continuous flow [...] that crosses and combines genres in an evolution that feels like one long dj set (it's no coincidence that artistic director Alessandro Gambo is a veteran dj and avid vinyl collector)".
