Farewell to John Berry, one of the founding members of the Beastie Boys

Si è spento ieri in una clinica di Danvers, nel Massachusetts, a soli 52 anni John Berry, uno dei membri fondatori dei Beastie Boys: era da tempo afflitto da una malattia degenerativa. Proprio a lui si deve il nome del combo che all’inizio degli anni Ottanta, dai sobborghi di New York, si preparava a conquistare il mondo. Berry abbandonò i Beastie Boys nel 1983, agli albori del progetto, tant’è vero che fece in tempo soltanto a comparire in veste di chitarrista nel primo Ep “Polly Wog Stew”, registrato nell’autunno del 1982. 

La morte di Berry segue di 4 anni esatti quella di Adam Yauch, scomparso il 4 maggio del 2012 in seguito a una lunga malattia.
