The new edition of Berlin Atonal is almost upon us, set to take place at Kraftwerk Berlin from August 16th to 20th. Once again an exceptional line-up for what has by now become an unmissable date for all lovers of electronic music: from techno to noise, through to the latest developments in post-industrial electronic sound. There are numerous premieres and audio-visual performances created specifically for the festival, such as the one by Roly Porter together with Paul Jebanasam, or the one by Ena in tandem with Rashad Becker.
Main aka Robert Hampson (Loop) will play alongside techno legend Regis, while Powell will collaborate with photographer Wolfgang Tillmans. Mick Harris (Napalm Death, Scorn) will perform with his electronic project Fret. Demdike Stare will put together a brand new, previously unheard live set with visuals by Michael England, while Danish duo Damien Dubrovnik will present a new performance inspired by their latest record. Also on the bill are performances by Varg (with his Nordic Flora project); moreover, Danish noise artist Puce Mary and Chinese artist Pan Daijing will preview their new albums.
Equiknoxx, DJ Stingray, American noise legends Wolf Eyes, Carla dal Forno, Shackleton and Richard Fearless are just a few of the many confirmed names for what is shaping up to be Berlin's event of the year, an unmissable date for anyone looking toward the future of the darker side of experimental electronic music.
