Ex-Otago, Thursday 17 September at Circolo Magnolia in Milan for the grand finale of the summer tour celebrating ten years of "Marassi"

11-09-2026

After months on the road across Italy and Europe, between sold-out clubs and summer stages up and down the country, "Marassi" arrives in Milan for one last, unmissable celebration. On Thursday 17 September, Ex-Otago will take the stage at Circolo Magnolia for a special show, the grand finale of the celebrations for the tenth anniversary of their iconic album.
Here are the tickets.
It will be a show full of surprises and guests, opened by sets from two brilliant young singer-songwriters, Greta Zuccoli and Sandri.
"Marassi" is an album that decisively marked a period in Italian music - the one in which indie became pop, reaching thousands of people, big stages and the charts - and that changed the life and cemented the career of the Genoese band. A collective, shared journey through the memory and energy of a work that helped shift the trajectory of Italian pop. A political, social, rebellious record, yet also extremely light-hearted, never taking itself too seriously while still speaking clearly, in total freedom. With its universal specificity, Marassi continues to tell the story of a historical and social moment, an ideal, a way of understanding music: independent, authentic and human, born from the band's life and then flowing into the lives of others thanks to that magic that is playing it, singing it, breathing it live.

BIO

Ex-Otago formed in Genoa in 2002 as an acoustic trio and were among the first bands to explore transatlantic indie pop sounds and marry them to the Italian song tradition. For the first five minutes of their existence they were called Otago, a tribute to a New Zealand rugby team that won the championship against all odds, but they soon fell out of love with the name, so they had to break up and re-form - fittingly - as Ex-Otago. Since then, more than twenty years have passed: years in which the band has gone through lineup changes and faced an ever-wider audience, continuing to evolve while remaining true to a personal and recognisable voice. After their debut with "The Chestnuts Times" (2002), followed by "Tanti saluti" (2007), "Mezze Stagioni" (2011) marked their consecration as a cult name on the underground scene. After being "In capo al mondo" (2014), the band returned - literally - home with "Marassi" (2016). Produced by Matteo Cantaluppi, the album won over audiences and critics alike (it is certified gold, with Quando sono con te a platinum single and La nostra pelle a gold single), confirming them as one of the cornerstones of the Italian indie world, as Rolling Stone described them. The album was reissued the following year in a Deluxe version featuring several guest artists, including rappers such as Jake La Furia, Caparezza and Willie Peyote, anticipating the blending of itpop and rap that has dominated the charts in recent years. After a long tour, which among various stops also saw them share the stage with Radiohead, in 2019 the band took part in the Sanremo festival with "Solo una canzone" (certified gold single), followed by the release of their sixth studio album, "Corochinato!". After a period of hiatus, in 2023 they released the album "Auguri" and went back on the road across the country with a songbook now made up entirely of singer-songwriter pop classics.

In January 2026 they celebrate the tenth anniversary of Marassi with a small club tour across Italy, which sells out immediately, and with Euromarassi, a series of dates in Europe in April. The celebration resumes in summer with a tour of Italian festivals, including a special date in their hometown of Genoa and a big final party in September in Milan.
