Elton John's albums ranked from worst to best, by Ultimate Classic Rock

The online magazine Ultimate Classic Rock has dedicated an in-depth feature to Reginald Kenneth Dwight, aka Elton John, publishing a ranking of his albums, ordered from worst to best, according to the editorial staff's assessments. “Elton John—the magazine writes in its introduction—dominated the Seventies, sure, but this album-by-album retrospective confirms that his story didn't stop there. The numbers, of course, speak for themselves. Having sold roughly 80 million records in the US alone, John released seven No. 1 albums. All of them in the Seventies. His best-selling album remains, to this day, 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road', certified eight times platinum, released right in the middle of that unrepeatable era. He landed nine No. 1 singles on the Hot 100, and six of them belong precisely to the years when dance floors were lit up by disco balls. And yet John kept recording albums that were well received all the way into the 2020s. Longtime co-writer Bernie Taupin contributed to John's first eleven consecutive albums, later returning to bolster a string of particularly successful late-career works.”
