Durutti Column return with a new album after 16 years. Here's the single “Liars”

27-05-2026

Sixteen years after their last studio album, Durutti Column are back with a new record. The group led by Vini Reilly will release "Renascent" on July 31 via London Records. The album is preceded by the single "Liars", its first taste, which you can listen to below.

The announcement comes just months after the reissue of "The Return Of The Durutti Column", the historic debut by the Manchester outfit originally released in 1980. The artwork for "Renascent" was created by Mark Holt and Hamish Muir of 8vo, two graphic designers long associated with Factory Records.

Alongside Reilly, percussionist Bruce Mitchell also returns, together with Keir Stewart, the musician and producer who worked on the album. In recent years the work of Durutti Column has been enjoying renewed critical and generational attention, earning praise from artists such as Frank Ocean, Yung Lean and Harry Styles. Commenting on the shout-out from the former One Direction member, Reilly joked: "I don't know who Harry Styles is, but I'll Google him".
Guests on the album also include Caoilfhionn Rose, who will likewise take part in the Durutti Column tribute set to feature at the Meltdown Festival curated by Harry Styles himself next month in London.
Durutti Column's last album of original material dated back to 2010, "A Paean To Wilson".
