Tra le esecuzioni spicca “Between Two Points”, unica cover contenuta nell’ultimo album “Luck And Strange“.
It was at Circus Maximus, in the heart of Rome, that the "Luck and Strange Tour 2024" kicked off, the guitarist's first tour in almost ten years of silence. Six consecutive sold-out nights launched a run that sold out everywhere it went: from the warm-up dates at the Brighton Centre to the London shows at the Royal Albert Hall, on to the American gigs at the Intuit Dome and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, wrapping up with five nights at Madison Square Garden in New York. In total, all 23 dates of the tour sold out, confirming the artist's extraordinary following.
"Luck And Strange", Gilmour's fifth solo album, topped the charts in the UK, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Portugal and Austria. It reached No.2 in France, Italy and Belgium, the Top 5 in Spain, Japan, Norway, Denmark and Hungary, and the Top 10 in the United States, Australia, Finland, Sweden, Ireland and New Zealand.
Tickets and the list of venues (standard and IMAX) are available at davidgilmour.film and nexostudios.it.
Gilmour's solo career has always been marked by long gaps between albums: "David Gilmour" (1978) was followed by "About Face" (1984), then "On An Island" (2006) and "Rattle That Lock" (2015), up to the recent "Luck And Strange" (2024). If he keeps his promise, the next wait could be the shortest of his recording career.
