Dave Grohl has confirmed that Foo Fighters have finished recording their new studio album. The announcement came straight from the stage at UTAS Stadium in Launceston, Tasmania, during the first Australian date of the “Take Cover” tour.
The US frontman shared the news during the encore, while introducing “Exhausted”, a track from the band's self-titled 1995 debut album. Addressing the crowd, Grohl hinted that the band's return to Australia isn't far off: “We'll be back here sooner than you think. I know when we're coming back! It'll be before my next birthday, January 14, 2027. And we might have a new record of fucking songs we just finished the other day. I don't know!”.
Foo Fighters' latest studio album is “But Here We Are”, released in 2023. In 2024 the band celebrated thirty years together with the release of the single “Today's Song”, followed by “Asking For A Friend”. October also saw the arrival of the live EP “Are Playing Where??? Vol. I”.
With support from Idles and Fat Dog, Foo Fighters will play a single Italian date on the “Take Cover” tour: July 5th in Milan, at the Ippodromo SNAI La Maura, as part of I-Days.
