Chapterhouse live at Quarantenna1 for Whirlpool's 35th anniversary

12-06-2026

Quarantenna1 drops a live bombshell: following the cancellation of the The Limiñanas tour, none other than Chapterhouse step in as replacements. To mark the thirty-fifth anniversary of “Whirlpool” (1991), the storied Reading outfit, a cornerstone of the shoegaze scene, will perform their debut album from start to finish in the town square of Fiorano Modenese. Formed in 1987 out of the friendship between Andrew Sherriff, Stephen Patman and Simon Rowe, and initially driven by an acid rock spirit, the band has only two studio albums to its name in its career: the towering “Whirlpool” and the baggy experiments of “Blood Music”, while just last year saw the release of the rediscovered “White House Demos” (2025).
Opening for them on the Radio Antenna 1 festival stage will be the spatial suites of Roman band Neoprimitivi, and the Modena-based alt-rock quartet with gaze-tinged shades, Palea.

General information and current lineup (free admission):
Saturday 20 June, from 6:00 pm | Piazza Ciro Menotti – Fiorano Modenese
