*PREVIEW* – CUT – “Second Skin” [Listen]

13-02-2017

Ondarock is pleased to present, in absolute exclusive, “Second Skin”, the sixth album by CUT and the record with which the historic Bologna band celebrates more than twenty years of a musical journey that has taken them through different “eras” of alternative and independent sound, always “on the wrong side of the road”. For this reason, during the making of the album, CUT wanted to involve some of their closest collaborators and friends, many of whom took part in the songwriting process, providing an essential contribution to the variety of atmospheres and suggestions that characterize “Second Skin”.

“Second Skin” features numerous guests, including: Mike Watt, Stefano Pilia, Sergio Carlini, Andrea Rovacchi, Francesco Salomone, Francesco Bucci, Paolo Raineri. For the artwork, the band chose “Nel Buio”, a painting by Modena-based artist Simone Fazio. A detail of this work had already been used for the online release of the track “Take It Back to the Start”.

“Second Skin” is the result of a co-production between Area Pirata, Dischi Bervisti, Antipop (the Liverpool label that has already distributed CUT's records in the UK) and Bare Bones Productions. Artistic production was entrusted to Bruno Germano, a longtime collaborator of the band who also played in Settlefish and has produced, among others, Fuzz Orchestra and Iosonouncane. Germano also appears on the record as a musician and co-writer of the title track.

Several tracks also feature Francesco Bolognini, the band's first drummer, further proof of CUT's desire to gather around “Second Skin” the friends and collaborators of a lifetime.

CUT are Ferruccio Quercetti (vocals, guitar), Carlo Masu (guitar, vocals) and Gaetano Maria Di Giacinto (drums, percussion).
