This morning, at the Sala della Protomoteca on the Capitoline Hill, the press conference took place to present the sixteenth edition of Rock In Roma, for years now one of the capital's most important music events. Speakers included Alessandro Onorato, Rome's Councillor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion, Radio 2 Director Giovanni Alibrandi, Radio 2 host Martina Martorano, Rock In Roma founders and Artistic Directors Maximiliano Bucci and Sergio Giuliani, and — as a surprise guest — singer Emma, who will perform on July 2nd, the first woman ever to headline Rock In Roma. The event was moderated by Daniele Mignardi.
Councillor Onorato in particular stressed how much investment in major events has attracted tourists in recent years, extending the average stay, which has gone from 2.3 days to over 4; in 2023, 500,000 more tickets were sold than in Milan, and 1 million more in 2024, with significant positive effects on employment as well.
The events will be held at the Ippodromo delle Capannelle and the Cavea of the Auditorium Parco della Musica. Already 150,000 tickets have been sold, with the Olly show (around 28,000 tickets) and Marilyn Manson (around 5,000 in the more intimate Cavea space) already sold out. Things kick off on June 9 with the Offspring, while the closing show is set for July 18 with Bluvertigo. A wide-ranging lineup, rounded out today with the announcement that Korea's Ateez will perform on July 8 - a bill that reflects the trends of the contemporary scene without giving up the major names who have shaped music history. A mix of genres, languages and generations gives the festival its dynamic, inclusive spirit, designed to draw in an ever-wider and more varied audience. It's a cultural experience that showcases the city, turning it into a crossroads of sounds, energy and vision - an event that plays a significant role in the Capital's artistic vitality, cementing its standing in Europe and firmly placing it within the international circuit of major tours. Over the years, Rock in Roma has established itself as a genuine summer ritual, one in which music becomes part of the city's rhythm and marks out its most intense nights.
Among the festival's long-standing partners is Save the Children, an organisation that for over a century has fought to save children at risk and secure their future. Rock in Roma is also pleased to host UNICEF Italy with its outreach volunteers, engaged in awareness-raising activities to support the organisation's programmes for the most vulnerable children.
