Michael Kiwanuka – “Lowdown”

Michael Kiwanuka has announced his new album, “Small Changes”. Out November 15th via Polydor Records, it will be the long-awaited follow-up to “Kiwanuka”, the soul singer-songwriter's third album, released in 2019, winner of the Mercury Prize and Grammy Award nominee. “Small Changes” (available here for pre-order) was produced by Danger Mouse and Inflo, the same team behind the worldwide critical success of “Kiwanuka” and its predecessor “Love & Hate”. Franz Ferdinand – “Audacious”

Franz Ferdinand have announced their first album in six years, titled “The Human Fear”, due out on January 10th, 2025 via Domino. The record finds the band grappling with the theme of fear and how to overcome it. The video for the first single, “Audacious”, was directed by the Scottish band's longtime collaborator Andy Knowles, and was filmed at the Barrowlands in Glasgow. Speaking about the track, Kapranos added: “It's about having a bold response when you feel the fabric of existence fraying around you. Being brave, being contrary”.

Pulp – "Spike Island"

Fresh off last summer's tour, which also brought them to Italy for the Medimex festival in Taranto, on September 8th Pulp kicked off their American tour. During their show at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, the British band performed a new song titled “Spike Island”. Listen to it below:

 

Soccer Mommy – “Driver”

On October 25th, Soccer Mommy will release her fourth album, “Evergreen”, two years after the previous “Sometimes, Forever”. Sophie Allison recorded the new record at Maze Studios in Atlanta, with producer Ben H. Allen III (Animal Collective, Washed Out, Deerhunter). The American artist has also announced the dates of her 2025 European tour and will stop in Italy on Friday, May 2nd at the Legend Club in Milan. Listen to the new single “Driver” below:

Tears For Fears – “The Girl That I Call Home”

New material is on the way from Tears for Fears, following their 2019 live reunion (here's the review of the Rome show) and the 2022 one, complete with a new album. The British band has announced their first official live album, released worldwide, “Songs For A Nervous Planet”. But that's not all: the record also features four unreleased studio tracks, including a new single, “The Girl That I Call Home”, which you can already listen to below:
