Born in Taranto in December 1977, she's convinced that "The Modern Dance", "Psycho Killer", and "Heroes" indelibly shaped her development in the womb. She graduated in Philosophy in 2001 with a thesis on the Spanish philosopher José Ortega y Gasset and the crisis of European civilization, and has continued a kind of lifelong education ever since, becoming a support worker for the visually impaired and a cultural mediator. In high school she started listening to Lou Reed and David Bowie records — Bowie being one of her icons (in her teenage delirium, she dreamed of turning into him) — and went on to explore post-punk, with an almost visceral love for Talking Heads and Joy Division. Over the years, while remaining faithful to new wave, she's softened her rather orthodox musical stances and come to listen to anything that catches her attention, breaking down genre prejudice. She splits her time between her job at social services and music and photography, to which she devotes every remaining ounce of energy. Restless beneath an apparent calm, she loves minimalism and champions intellectual subversion. Her heroes are always extreme, tormented figures: Ian Curtis above all, along with Friedrich Nietzsche, Yukio Mishima, Andrea Pazienza, and Stanley Kubrick. Together with her partner Martino, she hosts "Pop in Dust", a radio show on the local Radio Popolare Network circuit devoted to the independent scene past and present, and she has been contributing to Onda Rock since 2005, writing monographs and reviews.
