Thirty Seconds To Mars

Thirty Seconds To Mars, formed in Los Angeles in 1998 by brothers Jared and Shannon Leto, are an American band who have skillfully blended alternative rock, arena rock and electronic elements, becoming one of the most influential and popular alternative rock acts of the 2000s. The band, which started out as a family project, quickly gained visibility thanks to the energy of their live shows and the dedication of the Leto brothers, with Jared — a charismatic frontman and established actor — and Shannon on drums.

Their self-titled debut album, "30 Seconds To Mars" (2002), introduced the band to the public with darker sounds and post-grunge and space rock influences. It was their second album, however, "A Beautiful Lie" (2005), that cemented the group's success: thanks to singles like "The Kill (Bury Me)" and "From Yesterday," the record earned multiple platinum certifications, bringing Thirty Seconds to Mars to international attention. This work revealed a more versatile and accessible band, ready to explore personal lyrics and existential themes, while building a strong bond with their fans, known as the "Echelon."

With the release of "This Is War" (2009), the American band consolidated its status: the album, with its epic, orchestral sound, reflected the energy of arena rock and marked the beginning of their evolution towards a formula more open to experimentation. For the production, the Leto brothers involved thousands of fans, using their voices as choirs and turning every song into a collective anthem. The legal battle with Emi over the album's release, chronicled in the documentary "Artifact," also exposed the darker side of the music industry.

Their sonic evolution became even more evident with "Love, Lust, Faith And Dreams" (2013), which marked a stylistic shift towards electronic pop that would intensify with "America" (2018). Both albums feature Edm influences and introspective lyrics, through which the American band tackles themes like love, faith and modernity. This new musical approach helped expand their audience to a more mainstream crowd.

On September 15, 2023, Thirty Seconds To Mars released their most recent album, "It's The End Of The World But It's A Beautiful Day", in which they continue their exploration of electronic pop, confirming themselves as a band capable of evolving while keeping their own identity.
