Communions

Communions are a Danish band founded by the Rehof brothers. The group emerged from the thriving Danish indie scene of the early 2010s, and it was on the back of that scene's punk and post-punk innovations that they released their first singles and EPs (Cobblestones EP and Communions EP).

With their debut LP, however, the band set out to forge a more defined identity of their own, one that would set them apart from kindred acts like Iceage and Lower, steering instead toward a melancholic, experimental strain of indie rock that more than once edges close to British pop-rock.

The transformation that began with their first LP, “Blue” (2017) - still sporadically tied to the sounds of their early days - is fully realized on the follow-up, “Pure Fabrication” (2021), which considerably broadens the band's palette.
