Chappell Roan

Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, known professionally as Chappell Roan, is an American singer-songwriter born in Willard, Missouri, on February 19, 1998. The product of a long-standing collaboration with producer Dan Nigro, her music draws on the synth-pop of the 1980s and the pop hits of the early 2000s. Her aesthetic, heavily influenced by drag queen culture, is often described as "campy".

At 17, Roan uploaded a song titled "Die Young" to YouTube, immediately landing a deal with Atlantic Records. In the summer of 2020, she released another track, "Pink Pony Club", which Vulture described as "the song of the summer 2021".

Her debut album, "The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess", was released on September 22, 2023 on Island Records, Amusement Records and KRA International. The record reached the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 nine months after its release, climbing as high as number five.

In 2024, after opening for Olivia Rodrigo on several dates of the "Guts" tour, Chappell Roan gained further popularity. She went on to perform at Coachella, Governor's Ball, Boston Calling and Bonnaroo that same year, drawing an ever-growing audience. Her success was highlighted in an interview and subsequent performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Her rise continued throughout 2024, with the single "Good Luck, Babe!" reaching the top ten of the charts in several countries. Chappell Roan went on to place multiple singles from "The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess" on the charts, with tracks like "HOT TO GO!," "Red Wine Supernova," "Casual" and "Femininomenon" still charting months after release.

Chappell Roan went on to place six tracks simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100, while continuing her "The Rise And Fall of a Midwest Princess Tour" and seeing her album hit No. 1 on the UK Chart.

Adored by fellow artists Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter and Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan is also hugely beloved within the Lgbtq+ community, which has crowned her its new icon.
