From Kim Gordon to Thurston Moore, from Coldplay to Bright Eyes: the most interesting new releases

Kim Gordon – "ECPR"

Earlier this year Kim Gordon released her stunning second solo album "The Collective", the follow-up to "No Home Record". Today the former Sonic Youth bassist has announced a new European tour, releasing at the same time her new single "ECRP". The video was directed by Gordon's daughter, Coco Gordon Moore, who also stars in it. Watch the video below:

Bright Eyes – “Bells And Whistles”

The new album by Bright Eyes, "Five Dice, All Threes", will be released on September 20 via Dead Oceans. About the track, singer and band leader Conor Oberst says: "This is a song about the many little details of life that can seem insignificant, frivolous or temporary in the moment, but that end up shaping your destiny. It's also kind of a whistle while you work". Listen to the first single, titled "Bells And Whistles", below:

Coldplay – "feelslikeimfallinginlove"

The new single by Coldplay is out now: it's called "feelslikeimfallinginlove". The track is the first taste of the new album "Moon Music", announced a few days ago and due out on October 4. It's the first official release from Chris Martin and co. since 2022 (the track back then was "Biutyful"). The single "feelslikeimfallinginlove" describes falling in love and the conflicting feelings it can stir up, with lines like "I know that this could hurt me bad/ I know that this could feel like that/ But I just can't stop/ Let my defences drop/ I know that I was born to kill/ Any angel on my windowsill/ But it's so dark inside/ I throw the windows wide". You can stream it below:

Thurston Moore – "Sans Limites"

After Kim Gordon, another outstanding former Sonic Youth member, Thurston Moore, is about to release a new solo album. The American guitarist and singer has announced "Flow Critical Lucidity", due out on September 20 via his own The Daydream Library Series.

For the former Sonic Youth member, this is his ninth solo album, two years on from the previous "Screen Time". "Flow Critical Lucidity" will feature the tracks "Hypnogram" and "Rewilding", released in recent months. Alongside these will be the new single "Sans Limites", made in collaboration with Lætitia Sadier (Stereolab), which you can listen to below.

The WAEVE – “You Saw”

The story isn't over yet for The WAEVE, the duo made up of Graham Coxon (Blur) and former Pipettes member Rose Elinor Dougall. On September 20, their second album "City Lights" will be released via Transgressive Records, following their acclaimed self-titled debut The WAEVE, which was also very well received on OndaRock.

In the new record, a press release states, "the band's sound becomes something bolder, more expansive and more self-assured". James Ford is at the production helm, while Graham and Rose play all the instruments themselves.

Ahead of the album comes the new single "You Saw", following the title track released a few months ago, which the WAEVE describe as "a song about how tiny decisions can have a seismic impact on the course of your life". Watch the video below:
