John Cale – “How We See The Light”
John Cale has announced his new album “POPtical Illusions”, due out on June 14th via Double Six/Domino, and has shared the first single “How We See The Light”. Cale has described the record as “a deeply atmospheric collection about impending ruin and the redemptive power of art and community”, a fitting follow-up to the previous “Mercy” (2023) in terms of the anger and bitterness expressed through music. Cale comes across as angry at capitalists, at the destruction they wreak on the planet and on human decency, but already from this first taste it's clear he wants to experiment rather than simply deliver a “Mercy” part 2.
Gastr Del Sol – “Seasons Reverse”

I Hate My Village – “Water Tanks”
Released on March 21st via Locomotiv Records, “Water Tanks” is the new single from the I Hate My Village project, the first preview of the new album expected out by this spring.
A track that confirms the compelling compositional flair of the supergroup made up of Adriano Viterbini (Bud Spencer Blues Explosion), Fabio Rondanini (Calibro 35, Afterhours), Marco Fasolo (Jennifer Gentle) and Alberto Ferrari (Verdena), as well as the decisive African influence running through their music.
Pearl Jam – “Running”
New single from Pearl Jam – the second, following the title track – previewing the forthcoming album “Dark Matter”, due out on April 19. It's called “Running” and it's exactly that: a breathless sprint lasting just over 2 minutes. “It's one of the last songs we recorded at Shangri-La in Malibu,” explained the Seattle band's guitarist Stone Gossard, “and it was fun to pull out another uptempo track. Ed's vocal ability (Eddie Vedder, ed.) here and in a few other spots on the album is simply astonishing.”
