La collaborazione tra Eivind Aarset e Jan Bang parte da lontano. I due musicisti norvegesi si sono ritrovati più volte a suonare nello stesso disco ad inizio anni Zero (Ketil Bjørnstad, Dhafer Youssef, Nils Petter Molvær), ma solo negli ultimi tempi hanno stretto un forte sodalizio (“Dream Logic”, “Dark Star Safari”, “The Height Of The Reeds”) che li ha portati infine a registrare “Snow Catches On Her Eyelashes”.

Erik Honoré e Sidsel Endresen sono presenti sulla traccia che apre l’album, “Purplebright”: un gioco di glissandi che descrive una sorta di alba boreale. L’amico Nils Petter Molvær regala un assolo con più silenzi che note sulla seguente “Asphalt Lake”, un groove denso come il mercurio, lasciato risuonare per illuminare una lunga notte artica.

Hilde Norbakken suona il pianoforte sulla più crepuscolare “Before The Wedding”, tra percussioni che sembrano detriti post-industriali e un velo di elettronica mai sopra le righe. Sulla commovente “Two Days In June” le chitarre di Aarset prendono a girare su melodie in grado di accendere le aurore boreali dei Sigur Ros.
