DE PONTI / MORETTI - Sinclasi

Probing new ways of meeting to shatter familiar, sterilely certain paths, rediscovering the fertile possibility of error and uncertainty. Born from the live reworking of "Calce", a process crystallized in a digital release curated by Manyfeetunder, the artistic partnership of Stefano De Ponti and Elia Moretti arrives at its second chapter for the American label Dinzu Artefacts, offering a new flow that critically examines the mechanisms of artistic production tout court today.

Abandoning continuity to explore new intersections and widening their vision through the active inclusion of contributions from theatre director Vojtěch Bárta and videomaker Gabriella Denisi, the duo tackles this shared new stage by digging into the soul and the matter itself, aiming to build an arcane code capable of deciphering the sounds of the surrounding world without unveiling their dark mystery.

Improvised fragments, drawn from a wide and varied array of instruments and self-built resonating objects, combine and collide, giving rise to a dynamic sonic torrent that discards the blueprint and surrenders entirely to instinctive, free gestures, unburdened by rigid superstructures. The result is a harsh advance of uneven electroacoustic currents, which embraces dissonance as a generative force and the intense wonder of the unexpected.

Hypnotically pulsing concrete textures, diluted pauses heavy with latent tension that favour the expansion of reverb, and progressive shrieking surges alternate, shaping a magnetic spiral in constant mutation. It echoes the visceral interpenetration between man and nature that permeates the verses of Dino Campana declaimed by Bárta at the centre of "Direzione". Just as with the sounds, the words are held back and revitalized by an involuntary shift of accent, making them at once new and familiar, contributing to a lexicon never entirely graspable yet deeply evocative.

Deliberately unpolished and offered as an unstable sensory navigation, "Sinclasi" unfolds as a fascinating and complex peregrination through a seething sea of sound, whose completeness is entrusted to the imagination of whoever sets out to cross it.
