This is how losers feel/ I am a loser”.
The emo background thus comes through, even within Ghetto's confessional, understated style, in the arpeggios and Kinsella-esque guitar strumming of "Balderdash", and in the chiaroscuro mood shifts of "Muffin", even more indebted to American Football. The producer's hand is noticeable in the more emo-pop tracks, reminiscent of early DCFC, such as "Vampires" and "Brunch", and in the solo piano pieces, a device used to tone down the guitar orgy that also made "Transatlanticism" such a great record ("Losers", "Pacific", "Remember Love").
La strada è quella giusta, e infatti, come nel precedente “I’m Not As Good At It As You”, le storie d’amore un po’ claustrofobiche di Jenn si esaltano in un contesto più “costruito”, nonostante l’inevitabile edulcorazione.
