Parole loro: è la canzone 3.0, la meta-canzone, e tutte queste amenità semantiche. In “Voyeur” la tensione alla costruzione di una propria estetica è palpabile, si potrebbe dire che è l’obiettivo principale dei Saint Motel, quartetto losangelino. In questo delirio paranoide, ogni mezzo è lecito: progghismi latineggianti (“Feed Me Now”), rock orchestrale (“Benny Goodman”) come di un Alex Turner ingrassato (si rimette poi in forma in “Puzzle Pieces”) e, infine, l’immancabile West Coast incosciente di “Honest Feedback”.

Lo stordimento è preventivabile, anche per via del sound roboante, gonfio, roba da Killers insomma – si veda come muta il motivo Bacharach-esque di “1997”. E diventa così fin troppo facile abbassare il volume, dato che il rumore di fondo è già alto.
