This Manchester quartet (though, in a marvel of globalism made real, featuring American and New Zealander members) powers the flywheel between America and England (and back), thanks to a little record steeped in a noise-pop of pure reverb and easy-peasy hooks, spat out at full tilt like paper-and-dream pellets fired from a homemade blowpipe. The sticky honey of vocal melodies, which really couldn't get any more sixties, ends up splattered under the soles of a homemade garage-surf sound. Following in the wake of the Captured Tracks and In The Red rosters, and with strong stylistic kinship to compatriots Pens, Graffiti Island and Male Bonding (so much so that one could almost already speak of a scene, christened by the label Italian Beach Babes), the four of them stitch together a wondrous primer of cartoonish little songs that let themselves be roughed up without too much ceremony. They will(n't) become famous, but that's just fine.
