JASPER TX - The Black Sun Transmissions

2011 (Fang bomb)
ambient drone, avant-garde, field recordings

Just a year after the monumental "A Voice From Dead Radio", Swedish artist Jasper TX, aka Dag Rosenqvist, returns to the spotlight.

“The Black Sun Transmissions” is a new immersion into leaden textures where ambient, noise and glitch coexist in a more or less balanced way, shaping abstract soundscapes (“Signals Through Wood & Dust”) but also flashes of painfully classical-leaning mimesis, which amplify the melancholic essence of his more informal pieces (“Weight Of Days”, “All I Could Never Be” and "White Birds"). The twenty-one minutes of “Shores”, on the other hand, plunge into a gloomy abyss of sinister, terrible clues. The constant reshuffling of sounds and silences culminates in a floating swarm of noise.
