Tosca are the group formed by Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber, contemporaries of - but less famous than - the duo Dorfmeister formed with Peter Kruder. Tosca's sound is inevitably tied to the late-90s era of lounge electronica (read: downtempo). It's in that spirit that the duo also released their last studio album, "No Hassle", back in 2009. Twelve months on, the remixes spawned by those songs have been gathered into an album, "Pony No Hassle Versions", which attempts to breathe new life into the formula.
Rodney Hunter floors the accelerator for his version of "Rosa", and pulls it off. Less effective is Kalabrese's funk graft onto "Oysters In May". As elegant as ever, Nicola Conte tackles a jazz arrangement of "My First". Closing out the tracklist is a string version of the aforementioned "Rosa".
