Thegiornalisti: reissue marks 10 years of "Completamente Sold Out"

Ten years on from "Completamente", one of the defining songs of the season that carried Italian indie to the mainstream, Thegiornalisti are marking the anniversary of "Completamente Sold Out" with a new vinyl edition. "Completamente Sold Out – Anniversary Edition" will be released on October 23 via Carosello Records and is already available for pre-order.

Released in October 2016, "Completamente Sold Out" marked one of the decisive steps in the rise of Thegiornalisti and, more broadly, in the breakthrough of that new Italian it-pop scene which, in those very years, was starting to move beyond indie and win over the mainstream. Driven by Tommaso Paradiso's songwriting, the band built an instantly recognizable world, populated by absolute yet fragile loves, messages sent in the middle of the night, fear of growing up, nights out with friends, and an everyday emotional life told with a tone that was both nostalgic and generational.
The album thus helped define a new formula for Italian pop, blending vintage touches (especially the 80s) with contemporary production, turning ordinary situations and private feelings into songs aimed at an audience far wider than the independent scene the band came from. The success proved lasting: "Completamente Sold Out" spent over 100 consecutive weeks on the FIMI chart of Italy's best-selling albums.

The new "Anniversary Edition" will come out on royal blue vinyl and will add three later-released tracks to the original tracklist: "Senza", "Non caderci mai più" and "Riccione". For all three, this marks their first-ever release on physical format. Pre-orders opened today, September 21, exactly ten years after the release of "Completamente", the song that paved the way for and accompanied Thegiornalisti's definitive breakthrough.
