Oasis: watch the first trailer for the film "Don't Look Back In Anger", coming soon to theaters

05-07-2026

Exactly one year after the start of "Oasis Live '25," which kicked off on 4 July 2025 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Disney+ has released the first teaser for "Don't Look Back In Anger," the official documentary dedicated to the historic reunion of Oasis. The film traces Liam and Noel Gallagher's return to the stage after sixteen years apart, and promises to tell the inside story of one of the most important musical events of recent decades.
The documentary will debut in cinemas worldwide from 11 September, with a limited release in IMAX as well, before arriving on Disney+ internationally (and on Hulu in the United States) by the end of the year. The project is directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, who previously made the documentaries "Shut Up And Play The Hits" about LCD Soundsystem and "Meet Me In The Bathroom," while the concept was devised by Steven Knight, creator of the series "Peaky Blinders." It is produced by Magna Studios and Sony Music Vision, with Sam Bridger and Guy Heeley as producers. Below is the first trailer.

"Don't Look Back In Anger" gathers exclusive footage of rehearsals, backstage moments and the tour's concerts, along with Liam and Noel Gallagher's first joint interviews in over twenty years. To make it, the crew followed the band for more than thirty days of rehearsals, filming all the tour's major shows with multiple cameras as well. The technical team includes cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos, Oscar-winning sound mixers James Mather and Tarn Willers, and editors George Cragg and Martina Zamolo.
The roughly fifty-second teaser offers a first glimpse of the rekindled – and never entirely dormant – relationship between the two brothers. Noel opens with a quip that echoes past tensions: I can't see myself on stage with Liam, I really can't see it. Shortly after comes Liam's retort: "The way it ended is unacceptable. Sarà il caos".

According to Steven Knight, the documentary doesn't aim merely to recount the behind-the-scenes story of the reunion, but also to explore the cultural and generational significance of Oasis's return, an event capable of bringing together fans of different ages and backgrounds. "Oasis's world tour brought together generations, cultures and countries, speaking of reconciliation to a fragmented world," explained the director and screenwriter. "Don't Look Back In Anger isn't just your ticket to the show: it's a backstage pass and a seat at the table as Liam and Noel sit down together for the first time in 15 years and tell it like it is and like it was."

Meanwhile, fans' attention is already turning to the band's future. After the 2025 tour and the documentary, rumours continue to circulate about a possible live return in 2027, with a new run of shows across continental Europe, which was left out of the first leg of the reunion. Among the most credited hypotheses for Italy is a date at Rome's Stadio Olimpico, though some still dream of an even bigger event at Tor Vergata. For now, though, no official confirmation has arrived.
