Ninotchka: listen to the new single “Ninnarella” featuring Andrea Chimenti

06-02-2026

Three years after the debut with "Temporalità", an album that had already showcased Mimmo Pesare's ability to build layered sonic architectures drawing on significant collaborations such as those with Emidio Clementi, Georgeanne Kalweit and Gianluca De Rubertis, the Ninotchka project continues its research-driven path with a new piece that confirms its authorial signature. After the tribute to Massimo Volume alongside Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi and the recent "Lune di Gaza" with Amerigo Verardi, comes "Ninnarella", a track that previews the second studio album and features one of the most recognizable voices on the Italian scene, that of Andrea Chimenti.

The encounter between Ninotchka's aesthetic — suspended between trip-hop suggestions, post-rock breathing spaces and singer-songwriter-rooted songwriting — and Chimenti's deep, crepuscular voice generates an expressive short circuit of considerable impact. The lyrics move between visionary lyricism and denunciation, building a kind of secular psalm that crosses through the rubble of the present: "Cadon gli dèi, cadono i santi… Brucia il presente, dorme la Storia", while the lullaby form here becomes a tool of resistance, a vigil song in a dystopian landscape where "saltan le bambole sopra le mine".

Yet amid the desolation, a stubborn glimmer of hope emerges, encapsulated in the line “Cedon le voci, restano i canti,” the emotional core of the track and almost a manifesto for the idea that art and music can survive collapse. The closing lines in French add an unexpected touch of tenderness, like a final caress after the bitter breath of the song, while Chimenti's interpretation lends the whole piece a suspended, almost ritualistic dimension, in which his seductive voice becomes the perfect vehicle for this nocturnal vision of a world in pieces.

The picture is completed by the lyric video's animations, drawn from the works of Carmìne Antonucci, a Taranto-born painter of international standing whose visual work dialogues perfectly with the project's poetic and visionary dimension. With “Ninnarella,” Ninotchka reaffirms a precise vision in which the song becomes a space for working through contemporary crises, confirming an original and recognizable artistic path as they await their new LP.
