New Order: new compilation "The Best & The Rest Of" on the way

20-05-2026

New Order have announced the release of "The Best & The Rest Of", a new collection bringing together the celebrated compilations "The Best Of New Order" and "The Rest Of New Order", alongside a wide selection of remixes. The release, due out on 17 July via Warner Music Group, will also include several previously unreleased mixes by Sub Sub, Richie Hawtin and Joe T. Vannelli. The collection will also be available on vinyl, fully remastered at Abbey Road Studios.
Originally released in 1994, "The Best Of New Order" gathered the band's key singles from 1985 onwards, alongside four new remixes made specifically for that edition. The tracklist featured classics such as "True Faith", "Bizarre Love Triangle", "Blue Monday 88", "Regret" and "World in Motion". The following year brought the companion record "The Rest Of New Order", devoted instead to reinterpretations and remixes of the band's catalogue. Among the best-known tracks was "Blue Monday-95", reworked by German electronic duo Hardfloor.
For the first time, "The Rest Of New Order" will also be available in full as a 3LP edition featuring all twelve tracks from the original CD and vinyl versions.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Joy Division and New Order will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, following nominations received in 2023, 2025 and 2026.
Commenting on the news was Peter Hook, the historic bassist of Joy Division and later New Order until 2007, who suggested that Oasis could act as intermediaries for a possible band reunion.
Joining New Order in the 2026 class will also be Sade, Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Wu-Tang Clan, Billy Idol and Luther Vandross.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on 14 November at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
