Madame returns with new music after three years of silence: out now is “Disenchantment”, the first solo single ahead of the self-titled album, due out April 17th. Written by Madame herself and produced by Bias, Mr. Monkey and Lester Nowhere with a contribution from Lorenzo Brosi, “Disincanto” is presented as the manifesto of her new project. The song doesn't chase the immediacy of a radio single: it has a darker, more reflective tone, built on a fabric of synths that recall Eighties sonorities and accompany lyrics dense with personal questions.

At the heart of the track is a process of self-criticism. Madame moves through a phase of restless self-awareness, in which certainties seem to dissolve, giving way to a series of questions about identity and the meaning of experience. Lines like “io non vivo più con sotto le istruzioni/ tutto ciò che so spero che mi abbandoni” or “la realtà è un mobile con mille spigoli, ci sbatto, i lividi” outline a perspective in which growth comes through confronting doubt and a harsher perception of reality. The chorus condenses the core of the song: “Io non ho più paura/ ho gli occhi gonfi del mio disincanto/ cosa resterà di me?”. The disenchantment evoked by the title thus becomes an existential condition, a transitional phase preceding a possible new awareness.
According to the press release, the song was born during a night of work marked by long conversations precisely around the theme of disenchantment. Out of those reflections came the urge to turn that emotional climate into music, shaping a track meant to introduce the atmosphere of the whole album.
At twenty-four, and after a period away, Madame returns with material that reflects a phase of deep personal reworking. “Disenchantment” opens the new chapter with a questioning, restless tone, made up of questions rather than answers.
“Disenchantment” is already available for pre-order on the main digital platforms and in several physical formats: CD and black vinyl with poster, black CD exclusive to Amazon, and signed transparent vinyl with poster and signed CD exclusive to Sugar Music.
