A little more than a month before the concert at Milan's San Siro stadium, Italian Iron Maiden fans will also get to see the band on the big screen. On May 7, 2026, “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition”, the official documentary dedicated to the band's career, will hit cinemas; in Italy the release is set for May 14.

The film, directed by Malcolm Venville – already behind titles such as “Churchill in Guerra” and “Theodore Roosevelt” – traces five decades of the British band's activity, from their beginnings on the London scene to their status as global heavy metal icons. The project includes previously unreleased archive material drawn from the band's official archives.

The documentary also features testimonies from major figures in the worlds of entertainment and music, including Lars Ulrich of Metallica, actor Javier Bardem, and Chuck D of Public Enemy. Their contributions delve into Maiden's cultural impact and their far-reaching influence, well beyond the boundaries of metal.

According to the official synopsis, “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition” offers unprecedented access to the band's artistic journey, weaving together interviews with the group's members and contributions from collaborators and outside observers. At the heart of the story lies the consistency of their creative vision and their enduring bond with one of the most loyal fanbases in the rock world.

The list of participating cinemas will be available from March 18 on the film's official website.

In a few weeks' time, Iron Maiden are also set to return with the concert on June 17 at Milan's San Siro stadium, billed as the first major metal event in the venue's history.
