Europe have released a new single, “Scandinavian Eyes”, which previews their upcoming studio album, “Come This Madness”, due out on September 25th. The track carries that same expansive breath typical of the band's classic hits under Joey Tempest, capable of fusing the power and immediacy of rock with the depth of orchestral music.
“Come This Madness” also includes the already-released singles “The Cult of Ignorance” and “One on One”. The album was recorded at RMV Studio in Stockholm, founded by Benny Andersson and Ludvig Andersson, and produced by Tom Dalgety. Tobias Forge of Ghost and Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth also contributed backing vocals to the project, while the mix was handled by Mike Fraser.
Following the album's release, the band is about to embark on a long tour marking the 40th anniversary of “The Final Countdown”, the group's most popular album. Kicking off in Glasgow on September 30th, the “The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary Tour” will bring together Europe's history with the energy still radiating from their most recent work. The tour will make stops across numerous European countries, including Italy, with a date on October 14th at Alcatraz in Milan.
The artwork for “Come This Madness” was created by Storm Studios, who have previously worked with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Muse.
