"Mutazioni 06" continues into the new year, the twentieth edition of the performance season at Teatro Spazio Bixio, promoted by the Municipality of Vicenza and curated by Theama Teatro, in collaboration with the For.The association. 2026 opens with a bold new development, the Mutazioni Elettroniche format which, over three evenings – Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 January, always at 9pm – will bring together experimental electronic music and theatrical readings on the theme of spirituality and mysticism. While the readings are entrusted to actors from Theama Teatro, for the choice of musicians the artistic direction has opted for Vicenza-based names who represent nationally renowned excellence in their respective genres.
It all begins on Friday 9 with a reading of works by Argentine writer and poet Jorge Luis Borges, performed by Aristide Genovese and Gaia Genovese. Joining them on stage will be Luigi Turra, a reductionist/electroacoustic composer whose interest lies in the sonic balance between silence, the tactile perception of sound, and research into aleatoric music. Turra's back catalogue is a radical discography for demanding ears, having released music on major Italian labels such as Die Schachtel, as well as Japanese (mAtter), American (and/OAR and Line) and German (Trente Oiseaux) imprints.
On Saturday 10 the featured author will be the Lebanese-American mystic writer and painter Khalil Gibran, interpreted by Daniele Berardi. The music, meanwhile, will be entrusted to a rising talent of contemporary electronic music, Elisa Dal Bianco. Already active with the synth-pop duo Trust The Mask, under the moniker Blancher, Dal Bianco is making a name for herself on the national scene with a set that blends electronics and violin, weaving dark, industrial atmospheres while exploring themes of power and unconditional love. Among her most significant releases is the 2025 album “Impact”, made in collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Giuseppe Dal Bianco.
Sunday 11 will close out the three-day run with a performance by Magilla (Massimo Dal Lago), composer, performer and inventor of musical instruments, with a set capable of recapturing the warmth of analogue sound through instruments often built from recycled old devices. The live set will be paired with readings from Canadian singer-songwriter and poet Leonard Cohen, interpreted by Piergiorgio Piccoli.
