Following the success of the recent edition of the Festival, held at the Hacienda in Rome from May 14 to 17, Invincible Fest returns with a new spring date hosted at the Eur Social Park.
The date, set for Sunday June 14th, is with Circle Jerks, a band belonging to the hardcore-punk scene. Formed in 1979 in the South Bay underground scene of Los Angeles, a year later they released their debut album, "Group Sex": fourteen songs packed into 16 minutes that became an absolute landmark of Californian hardcore punk.
The long list of artists influenced by the legacy of Circle Jerks ranges from Butthole Surfers to Red Hot Chili Peppers, with famous fans including the Dogtown skateboarders, Chuck Berry, Alice Cooper, Elton John, Johnny Depp, Guns N' Roses and Philip K. Dick. Decades later, their music continues to leave its mark on generations of fans with the most varied tastes, and on all those who challenge the status quo.
To mark the band's 40th anniversary and the commemorative reissue of their celebrated debut album, Circle Jerks arrive at Eur Social Park. The evening will be opened by Sottopressione, an energetic Italian hardcore project that picks up the legacy of the old school scene and infuses it with East Coast American influences. Opening duties will also fall to Purple Death, a death rock outfit, and Underball, a striking force from the rawest metal. The event is held in collaboration with Hub Music Factory.
