Misteriose, affascinanti, inquietanti, stregonesche: le muse dark sono le inevitabili protagoniste della puntata di Halloween di Rock in Onda, il programma condotto da Claudio Fabretti su Radio Città Aperta.

Dalle odi sepolcrali di Nico al dark-punk di Siouxsie, Nina Hagen, Lydia Lunch, X e Malaria!, dalle litanie stregonesche di Diamanda Galas e Jane Jarboe alle nuove eroine goth, come Chelsea Wolfe, Zola Jesus e Anna Von Hausswolff, passando attraverso il cabaret decadente di Andrea Schroeder e Dresden Dolls: una panoramica ad ampio raggio sulle più celebri “muse dark” della storia del rock.

Muse dark

In principio fu Nico, la valchiria delle tenebre, con le sue litanie sepolcrali per voce e harmonium, sotto l’egida di John Cale, suo ex-compare nei Velvet Underground. Poi toccò a Siouxsie Sioux inaugurare il filone gotico, unendo l’irruenza del punk e le tenebre dark insieme ai suoi Banshees. Da allora, ha proliferato una ricca stagione darkwave, in cui hanno brillato esponenti femminili come Nina Hagen, Lydia Lunch, Exene Cervenka (X), Elizabeth Fraser ai suoi esordi nei Cocteau Twins, il duo femminile delle Malaria!, l’iconica Patricia Morrison al servizio di Gun Club, Damned e Sisters of Mercy, la regale Monica Richards di Faith And The Muse. Una stagione che trova il suo ideale proseguimento nel filone attuale delle varie Chelsea Wolfe, Zola Jesus e Anna Von Hausswolff. Ma nella nostra galleria di muse dark abbiamo voluto aggiungere anche indubbie icone gotiche come Diamanda Galas, Jane Jarboe, Lisa Gerrard e Dolores Marguerite C. (In The Nursery), folksinger dalle tonalità spettrali (Elizabeth Anka Vajagic, Marissa Nadler), novelle chanteuse da dark-cabaret come Andrea Schroeder e Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls), oltre alla paladina dell’elettronica più oscura, Karin Dreijer Andersson aka Fever Ray.
