Ninja Tune's oblique sheet music

And the new album from The Cinematic Orchestra

Down there, to the right of the nearly century-old shop, there's a cinema that's been abandoned for ages, fascinating yet lost in its own greyness, yellowed by memories now forgotten.

But precious memories never truly fade away, and so, for the past few days, the square in front of the sign seems to have miraculously come back to life — in fact, word has it that a small orchestra tracked down the keys, which had fallen into a drain somewhere, and switched the lights back on.

Ninja Tune's oblique sheet music and the new album from The Cinematic Orchestra (with Carlo Marzari of Blocco 24)

Discreet stories, never showy, lived almost under the radar — not as some strategic choice, but out of psycho-physical necessity. A bit like the strange case of the Cinematic Orchestra which puts the music stands back in order, dusts off the sheet music, and lights up again after more than a decade. Or like the never-linear yet always stylish paths of Ninja Tune, a label that does have a common thread, though you have to figure out its outlines for yourself.

Marco and Davide, once again investigators of the unusual, having donned their regulation trench coats, organize a tour through the depths of the aforementioned cinema. Anyone wanting to take part, put your finger right here. Watch out for the traffic lights, single file on the crosswalk. To discover the strange Ninja pop.
