The quiet traveller

David Sylvian in search of the tree of life

by Davide Sechi

A young man grappling with a thousand doubts - existential, philosophical, spiritual, artistic - packs his bags and vanishes at first light. Forty years ago David Sylvian he found a first solution to his dilemmas and entered, calmly and gently, a brand-new dimension, where song merges with rarefaction, rhymes seem to flow without apparent effort, and rhythms stretch out and transform into sculptures made of air.

The Quiet Traveller: David Sylvian in search of the tree of life

Matteo and Davide, captivated, now as ever, by scores that sound like a breath of wind, follow in the footsteps of the fugitive, there where the trees shine.
