I was born in Cagliari in 1967 and have been listening to music for decades. My first 45 was "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees, given to me by my mum in 1978 to stop me from getting into punk, or so I imagine. Not brave enough to start a band, I developed a passion for listening, studying and discussing rock and everything around it. As a kid I used to watch "Discoring" and memorize artists and chart rankings, laying the groundwork for my passion for writing about music. My first listening experiences were progressive rock and Pink Floyd, along with a lot of disco music. Then came the 1980s and my initiation into new wave and post-punk: the word "Ultravox" found scrawled under my desk in middle school, Spandau Ballet playing "To Cut A Long Story Short" on TV, my cousin Sergio playing me the first Soft Cell album. A revelation, the effects of which are still with me today. I don't know whether I enjoy listening to music, talking about it, or writing about it more. Writing certainly gives me the joy of discovering, delving deeper, and talking about myself as well as the music I describe. I started doing this in 2009 with Beatbear.com, before moving on to writing in English for sonofmarketing.com from 2013. Since 2022 I've been contributing to Ondarock, and I still have plenty left to write.
