I am a vocal researcher, author, and music therapist. I studied lyrical and modern singing (Bevoice Method; Functional Method; Overtone singing; Recitarcantando, New Vocality), classical piano, and composition, and have taken part in seminars on the voice as an instrument (Tibetan and Vietnamese throat singing; vocal improvisation). As both teacher and performer, I pursue a personal research into pre-vocal expression and into the timbres and vocal settings employed in ritual by peoples of different latitudes and eras, building a bridge between music, theatre and the visual arts (I hold a degree in stage design and have also trained as an actor and in Contact Improvisation).
Since 2002 I have written and performed music for theatre, dance theatre, short films and video, writing among other things the sound score for the opening performance of the First Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, for the 5th International Festival of Avant-garde Theatre of the Slovak Republic, for the 2011 Venice Biennale, and for installations presented throughout Europe.
I have produced two solo albums, "L'urlo rubato" (2004) and "La stanza suona ciò che non vedo" (2006), and have been author and singer for the albums "3juno" by Liir Bu Fer, "Lunapark" by 1605munro with Robert Fripp and Takeshi Nishimoto, "NEUMI" (Cantus Volant Signas Manent - The music that leaves its mark), a project by Davide Riccio with an international line-up, published as a book and CD by Genesi Editrice, and "TRE" by Pierrot Lunaire, featuring Arturo Stalteri.
Founder of the multimedia project NichelOdeon, with which I won the 14th edition of the "Omaggio a Demetrio Stratos" showcase, I was a finalist at the seventh edition of the "Cinque Giornate" avant-garde music festival, at the 2011 Darwin - Stratos Prize, and at the 2011-2012 ARTEFATTO International Festival; I have recorded 2 CDs, "Cinemanemico live" (2008) and "Il gioco del silenzio" (2010), and made a DVD, "Come sta Annie? Twin Peaks 20th Anniversary show", which met with great critical acclaim.
In January 2012 came the release of the albums "Adython", with Erna Franssens (aka KasjaNoova), Attila Faravelli, Alfonso Santimone and Stefano Ferrian, with a preface by Arrington De Dyoniso, and "Aurelia Aurita" with RADIATA 5tet. Also in 2012, under the name InSonar, is the planned release of the album "L'Enfant et le Ménure" with Marco Tuppo and a line-up of over 60 historic names from rock, jazz, classical, world, noise and electronic music (including Elliott Sharp, Trey Gunn, Pat Mastellotto, Nik Turner, Ralph Carney, Dana Colley, Burkhard Stangl, Michael Thieke, Angelo Manzotti, Erica Scherl, Ivan Cattaneo, Dieter Moebius, Graham Clark, Richard A Ingram, Thomas Bloch, Viviane Houle, Jonathan Mayer), with illustrations by Marcello Bellina of MoRkObOt, as well as a live album for the fifteenth anniversary of the Lizard Records label, featuring his performances with Ares Tavolazzi, Paolo Tofani and Walter Calloni (Area International Popular Group), Vincenzo Zitello, NichelOdeon, and InSonar.
I am someone who studied too much and had to unlearn in order to start breathing.
I've used that breath mainly to sing, from age 3 to 44.
Together with children, the elderly, people with disabilities, political refugees, professionals, musicians and artists, towards whom I am repaying a deep debt of gratitude.
Among the records of some thirty-odd audio-video releases, for the street, for small and large stages, in theatres, festivals, contemporary art biennials, museums, art galleries, churches, cultural associations, charities, public baths, wherever I arrived on my own two feet or tagging along with someone else, but always wanting it badly and without worrying too much about the miles spent getting there.
To compose. On handwritten or imagined scores, which some have called music, others songs, some soundtracks, squrubuz, gne, we, well.
Feeling old when I was a child, a child when I no longer was one.
Every so often I've spoken about music in writing, and I've also painted, designed stage sets, written screenplays and played at being an actor.
What do I want to do now? Sleep, pray, laugh, be able to wash less and, above all, keep quiet.
No one is allowed that, only the mad and the dead - which is also why I'm on OndaRock.

Not just "Owner Of A Lonely Heart": among the grooves of “90125” there was another gem shining through, suspended between pop and avant-garde
Claudio Milano, musicologist and vocal scholar, analyzes the most inspired period of Deep Purple's singer, a voice as wide-ranging and powerful as the roar of a jet engine
A tribute to Milva, an extraordinary interpreter of far-flung worlds, from Brecht to Battiato, from Piazzolla to Edith Piaf
The farce of those who want to tell us that beauty is not a hammer but a mirror. That is, Claudio Milano's reflection on the latest Sanremo
