I was born in the year of “Loveless” and “Nevermind”, and music and writing have always been a form of catharsis for me. At seventeen I was struck by lightning courtesy of David Bowie, who has remained a constant presence in my musical and emotional life. I'm not someone who closes the door on any kind of listening on principle, but some things simply fall outside my tastes (reggae, trap, trappeton, hard rock and anyone who just mumbles random words), while I have a particular soft spot for those who stare at their shoes (nu-gaze and shoegaze), Britpop and dream-pop. I also look with interest at electronic music (IDM, indietronica, microhouse, futurepop, synthwave, synth-pop, techno, electroclash), and I enjoy writing about pop music. I have a degree in Humanities and Cultural Heritage and work as an image consultant; I've published two books and have been writing about music for over 10 years. I've contributed to webzines such as Shoegazeblog, Storia Della Musica, scaruffi.com and Kalporz, and started several personal projects of my own. I also curated a column for Giornale OFF, in which I interviewed lesser-known Italian artists, while for the socialist newspaper “Avanti!” I curated the politics column, another great passion of mine. Since February 2015 I've been an editor at Ondarock, which I've been reading since my school days and whose serious, internationally minded approach I really value. For Ondarock I also created the official Instagram page. I love live music, festivals, my Rome, cats, and sitcoms without canned laughter. Ci son giorni in cui l’uomo si sveglia con un genio giovane e vigoroso. As soon as his eyelids are loosed from the seal of sleep, the outside world presents itself to him in sharp relief, with clear-cut contours, with a wealth of marvelous colors. The moral world opens vast vistas, full of new illuminations. When man is graced with such a blessing, sadly rare and fleeting, he feels more of an artist and, at the same time, more just: in a word, nobler.
The drama of separation as lived through Damon Albarn's words, between drug-addled ramblings and bittersweet melancholy
