Filippo Neri was born in a private clinic in Reggio Calabria in the scorching August of nineteen eighty-one. After a brief spell in Liguria - which, fortunately in his view, left no significant trace in terms of accent, lifestyle or tolerance for cold weather - he returned to the one true capital of Calabria, where he grew up in close contact with nature, between the sea, kicking a ball around, more or less serious reading, and a genuine overdose of documentaries. He got into music by dusting off his father's old, bulky 8-track stereo cassettes, inexplicably struck by the Pink Floyd ones rather than the far more eye-catching covers of Fausto Papetti. Love at first listen for the English band and its dazed founder Syd Barrett, combined with the discovery of the internet, set off a frantic, if not downright compulsive, search for new records to listen to, with results not always comforting for those around him. Literally swept up by all this, he landed on the Ondarock forum in the year two thousand and two, finding, thanks to valuable advice and admirable fellow members, plenty to sink his teeth into (and then some). He loves Faust and krautrock, This Heat and avant-rock, the bold manipulations of Nurse With Wound, the industrial revolutions of Throbbing Gristle and Einstürzende Neubauten, the irreverent shapeshifting of The Residents, and music in general, without any kind of bias. He can still get excited, in an almost childlike way, about "strange" stories, even though he has yet to find a precise, unambiguous definition for that adjective.
