The Bad Ends

In this project we find, after his retirement from the scene back in 1997, Bill Berry, legendary drummer of Rem. Away from the spotlight, the drummer had only made special appearances, such as the band's induction into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame, or that night in 2020 when we came within a hair's breadth of an official reunion, had Vanessa of Pylon not sung "Crazy" in Stipe's place. It took Mike Mantione of Five Eight, a cult outfit also formed in Athens, GA in 1992 and tourmates of Stipe & co., to bring Berry back into the fold.

According to their own account, it all came together quite spontaneously. Mantione was working on a solo project backed by his trusted musicians, and after meeting Berry, he sent him a track written for "The Power And The Glory". That's where it all began.
